The Canadian Premier League Finally Kicks Off

After much anticipation and excitement, the first-ever Canadian Premier League match kicked off between Forge FC who were the hosts and York9 FC, the visitors at the Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario.

Sure enough, matchday began with plenty of celebration from fans and supporters’ groups alike. There was so much passion from everyone in attendance. Even with the cold weather, the atmosphere was very special!

Orange flares for the home side.

Both teams will have headed into this match in a confident mood, but it was the York9 FC boys that turned up in the 3rd minute of the game with a goal to silence the home crowd. Forge FC did grow into the game and got a well deserved equalizer in the later stages of the second half.

Overall, this was a joy to watch as a neutral and a truly memorable experience. I’m looking forward to the remainder of the games for the spring season!
