The Start of Something New

On Saturday May 6, Canada welcomed a new era for soccer with the announcement of our very own professional soccer league dubbed Canadian Premier League (#CanPL). Following the unveiling, there's been lots of buzz and excitement and rightly so, this represents the start of something new for us footy fans.

I'm already a big fan of leagues from other countries like the MLS in the states, The Premier League in England, La Liga in Spain, Seria A in Italy, Bundesliga in Germany and Ligue 1 in France - so it's great to see that we're beginning to take the sport more seriously in Canada.

There's still a lot of work to be done to get the league off to a flying start. As a passionate fan of the beautiful game, I think this is a step in the right direction and I'm super positive that there will be a transformation in the culture of footy in Canada.
